Traditional cooling
By implementing traditional chillers to cool the system -when all other means are not possible- we achieve two goals:
- Mathematically there is a posibility that the full free air cooling and the buffer cooling isn't enough, so the fallback to the chiller cooling is nessesary.
- Secondly is having this system making it possible to concurrently maintain the cooling cycle without impacting the service to the clients.
The APC in-row coolers are used to provide the traditional chilled water cooling. They stay in standby mode when the full free air cooling is active, they take over when the temperature in the data room is above threshold. This way it provides an automatic failover for the cooling system.
